Valeria Vetruccio, Italian, graduated at the State Conservatory “T.Schipa” in Lecce, “summa cum laude” , under the tutelage of Prof. Bruno V. Massaro, student as well of Aquiles Delle Vigne, Franco Scala and Riccardo Risaliti.
She has been awarded prizes in over fifty national and international competitions. At the age of 15, she started her concert career playing in many major Italian cities, including Rome (Villa Torlonia), Venice (Pala-Fenice), Genoa (Palazzo Ducale), Bari (Circolo Unione and Teatro Di Cagno), Lecce (Teatro Paisiello and Teatro Politeama Greco).
After her debut recital abroad at the age of 17, at the Wiener-Saal in Salzburg, she performed in many countries, including Belgium, Austria, France, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, Mexico.
In 1999 she debuted in the United States with a recital at the Lang Recital Hall in New York, followed in 2002 by a recital in Carnegie Hall.
She played as soloist with many Symphony and Chamber Orchestras, including, in Italy, Orchestra of the Conservatory “T.Schipa”, Eurorchestra, “Carlo Felice” Theatre Orchestra, "C.P.E.Bach" Chamber Orchestra, Magna Grecia Orchestra; in the USA, Meadows Symphony, Meadows Chamber Orchestra, San Angelo Symphony, Irving Symphony; in Mexico with the Orquesta Filarmonica de Jalisco.
She recently recorded Prokofiev Concerto n.3 op. 26 with the Irving Symphony Orchestra (USA), with M°Hector Guzman.
Winner of a full scholarship, she graduated at Southern Methodist University in Dallas under the tutelage of Prof. Joaquin Achucarro. She also took part to courses and master classes of Gyorgy Sandor and Alfred Mouledous (former student of A. Cortot e W. Gieseking).
She performs as soloist and in chamber groups.
Besides her music career, Mrs. Vetruccio will be awarded this year a doctoral degree in Anthropology at the Lecce State University (Italy).
